House Cleaning Options for Different Conditions and Priorities

The best service depends on whether the home is already maintained, needs a detailed reset, requires a short priority list, or is being prepared for a move.

This page covers residential cleaning. For an office or facility, visit Commercial Cleaning. For house washing, pressure washing, or other outside surfaces, visit Exterior Cleaning.

  • Two-hour minimum on-site service
  • Client-selected priorities completed in order

Property-specific transition cleaning

Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning

Starting at $325

Approved residential transition cleaning for a qualifying empty or nearly empty property up to approximately 1,500 square feet; Move-In and Move-Out use the same pricing model.

  • Empty or nearly empty qualifying residential property
  • Accessible baseboards and detailed shower/tub cleaning included in the base scope
  • Approved kitchen, bathroom, floor, and detail work
  • Appliance interiors only when expressly selected
  • Cabinet interiors only when expressly selected
  • Behind-and-under appliance work separately authorized
Best fit: a qualifying consumer residential move transition. Repeated property-manager turnover work remains a separate B2B service model. A legitimate project outside the qualifying assumptions may require a Specialized Quote; selecting Move-In / Move-Out by itself does not.
View Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning Details

Standard, Deep, and qualifying Move-In / Move-Out starting prices include up to approximately 1,500 square feet. Residential Home-Size Pricing is progressive: $0.08 per square foot within 1,501–3,000, $0.06 within 3,001–4,500, and $0.04 above 4,500. Each portion is priced only at its tier. Flex does not use home-size pricing. Recurring Standard pricing begins only after an initial qualifying cleaning for the same approved property, scope, and frequency. The accepted estimate or other Service Document controls the final price and scope.

$35–$45

Oven Interior

Accessible interior surfaces; heavy carbonized residue and damage may limit results.

$45

Refrigerator Interior

Accessible interior surfaces after food and removable personal items are cleared.

$55 minimum

Cabinet & Drawer Interior Cleaning

The $55 minimum covers up to 10 completely emptied units; each additional cabinet box or drawer is $5. One cabinet box counts as one unit regardless of its number of doors.

$35

Baseboard Detailing

Accessible baseboards in a qualifying Standard scope up to approximately 1,500 square feet. Included in Deep and Move-In / Move-Out; handled inside the Flex Reserved Service Window.

$7

Interior Windows

Starting price per accessible interior window; quantity and condition are confirmed.

$25

Carpet / Rug Spot Treatment

Targeted treatment for a small area; complete stain removal is not guaranteed.

$35

Shower Deep Clean

For a base service where detailed shower work is not already included in the accepted scope.

$5

Linen Change

Starting price per bed using clean, complete bedding supplied by the client.

$35

Excessive Pet Hair Mitigation

Applies only when excessive pet hair requires additional labor. Having an indoor pet by itself does not trigger this charge.

Add-on clarification: Approved add-ons are enhancements to Standard, Deep, Flex / Priority, or Move-In / Move-Out, not stand-alone appointments, and do not themselves trigger specialized review. Baseboards and Shower Deep Clean are included in Deep and qualifying Move-In / Move-Out and are not charged again. Under Flex, separately priced add-ons are scheduled outside the Reserved Service Window, while baseboards are handled within it. Appliance movement and behind-and-under cleaning require separate written authorization.

Not sure which service to request?

Start With the Home’s Current Condition

The service name should reflect the work the property actually needs. Accurate information and useful photographs help DSS Cleaning recommend a realistic scope and starting estimate.

  • Choose Standard when the home is reasonably maintained and needs routine upkeep.
  • Choose Deep when dust, residue, or overlooked details require added labor.
  • Choose Flex / Priority when a short list matters more than completing a fixed whole-home checklist.
  • Choose Move-In / Move-Out for a qualifying empty or nearly empty residential transition; it starts at $325 and is not specialized merely because it is a move service.
  • Select Not Sure on the estimate form when you want DSS Cleaning to review the information first.

Residential cleaning questions

Frequently Asked Questions

These answers explain pricing, service selection, appliances, recurring cleaning, supplies, deposits, and the concern-reporting process.

How much does residential cleaning cost in Charleston?

One-time Standard starts at $195; recurring Standard begins only after an initial qualifying cleaning at $165 weekly, $175 every two weeks, $185 every three weeks, or $190 every four weeks; Deep starts at $280; qualifying Move-In / Move-Out starts at $325; and Flex reserves a two-person team from $150 for 2 hours through $330 for 4 hours. Standard, Deep, and Move use approved progressive home-size pricing above 1,500 square feet. Flex does not.

What is the difference between Standard and Deep Cleaning?

Standard Cleaning is intended for routine maintenance in a reasonably maintained home. Deep Cleaning adds core detail work in confirmed rooms, including detailed bathroom surfaces, baseboards, window sills, door frames, trim, cabinet fronts, blinds, ceiling fan blades, light fixture exteriors, exterior vents, carpet edges, and upholstery, subject to condition, safe access, and practical reach.

Will Flex / Priority Cleaning complete my entire home?

Not necessarily. Flex / Priority is time-based. You rank approved rooms or Standard-level tasks, and the two-person team works in order until the selected Reserved Service Window ends. Approved pre-booking windows are 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, or 4 hours. Requests above 4 hours become a Specialized Flex Quote; onsite extensions require explicit approval and scheduling availability.

Are appliance interiors or behind-and-under cleaning included?

No, not automatically. Appliance exterior cleaning, appliance interior cleaning, behind-and-under appliance cleaning, and appliance movement are separate services. Interior or behind-and-under work is included only when expressly listed in the accepted Service Documents.

Does DSS Cleaning offer recurring house cleaning?

Yes. After an initial qualifying cleaning, recurring Standard Cleaning starts at $165 per weekly visit, $175 every two weeks, $185 every three weeks, or $190 every four weeks for qualifying homes up to approximately 1,500 square feet. Pricing for larger homes follows the approved progressive Residential Home-Size Pricing tiers. The accepted quote or work order identifies the approved scope, frequency, payment terms, and final price. Seven calendar days’ written notice is required to terminate recurring service.

Does DSS Cleaning bring supplies and equipment?

Yes. DSS Cleaning supplies the products and equipment required for the accepted scope. Eco-friendly products are available upon request. Disclose material sensitivities, delicate surfaces, product restrictions, and household concerns before service.

What does light tidying include?

Light tidying means minor straightening, such as arranging pillows and throws, placing a small number of loose items together, and moving objects when reasonably necessary to clean accessible surfaces. It does not include decluttering, sorting, organizing, dishes, laundry, making beds, disposing of belongings, or deciding where personal items should be stored unless separately included.

Do you guarantee removal of grease, stains, or heavy buildup?

No. DSS Cleaning uses reasonable professional methods but cannot guarantee complete removal of grease, baked-on residue, hard-water deposits, soap scum, rust, grout discoloration, adhesive, paint, odors, or permanent, set-in, or previously treated stains. Additional or specialty treatment may require a revised scope and price.

How far ahead should I request service, and is a deposit required?

DSS Cleaning requests at least 48 hours’ notice, though availability is not guaranteed. A reservation payment of at least 30% of the accepted amount is required unless an approved service-specific rule states otherwise. The deposit is generally non-refundable unless DSS Cleaning states otherwise in writing.

What should I do if I have a service concern?

Report a qualifying concern within 24 hours and provide useful details or photographs. DSS Cleaning reviews the concern under the Service Agreement and may provide one complimentary re-cleaning of the affected area when appropriate. The Service Agreement controls eligibility, remedies, and exclusions.
