A separate transition service
Cleaning Planned Around the Property You Are Leaving or Entering
Residential Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning is a separate approved product for a qualifying empty or nearly empty home in ordinary move-transition condition. Move-In and Move-Out use the same pricing model; the direction of the move does not itself change the price or trigger specialized review.
Tell us what will remain in the property, which interiors you want cleaned, the current condition, your handoff date, and any third-party checklist. We will identify the appropriate labor and document the accepted tasks.
- Move-in: start with accessible kitchens, bathrooms, rooms, floors, and selected empty interiors before belongings arrive.
- Move-out: address agreed transition-cleaning tasks after belongings and ordinary trash have been removed.
- Property-specific: the accepted estimate, invoice, work order, or booking confirmation controls the final scope.
Two directions, one clear process
Move-In Cleaning and Move-Out Cleaning Serve Different Moments
Both services use the same approved pricing model, while preparation, priorities, and handoff expectations may differ.
Move-In Cleaning
Prepare accessible surfaces in a vacant or nearly empty property before furniture, boxes, and household items limit access.
- Selected kitchen and bathroom cleaning
- Accessible bedrooms, living areas, and floors
- Empty cabinets, drawers, or appliance interiors when listed
- Documented priorities based on the property’s condition
Move-Out Cleaning
Address the accepted cleaning checklist after personal belongings and ordinary household trash have been removed.
- Accessible kitchens, bathrooms, rooms, and floors
- Selected trim, storage interiors, or appliance interiors
- Condition-based attention documented before service
- Clear limits around repairs, damage, debris, and third-party approval
Important: DSS Cleaning does not guarantee a landlord inspection, buyer approval, lease compliance, or the return of a security deposit. Cleaning cannot correct repairs, damage, permanent discoloration, pest activity, mold, or maintenance conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Review pricing, occupancy, interiors, appliance movement, property preparation, realistic results, deposits, and the service-concern process.
How much does move-in or move-out cleaning cost in Charleston?
Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning starts at $325 for a qualifying empty or nearly empty home up to approximately 1,500 square feet. Approved progressive home-size pricing applies above 1,500 square feet. Selected appliance interiors, cabinet and drawer interiors, windows, and other approved detail work are priced separately when applicable. The move direction does not change the price or itself trigger specialized review.
What is included in move-in and move-out cleaning?
For a qualifying empty or nearly empty property, the base scope includes accessible kitchen surfaces and appliance exteriors, detailed bathrooms and shower/tub cleaning, bedrooms and living areas, floors, doors, frames, sills, trim, baseboards, empty closets and shelving surfaces, and high-touch surfaces. Appliance, cabinet, and drawer interiors and interior windows are separately selected when applicable.
Does the home need to be empty?
The approved $325 base price assumes an empty or nearly empty home with personal property and ordinary trash removed, utilities operational, and straightforward access. Disclose remaining furniture, boxes, trash, or belongings before the estimate. A legitimate cleaning project outside those qualifying assumptions may require a Specialized Quote; move-service selection alone does not.
Are oven and refrigerator interiors included?
Only when expressly selected. Oven Interior is $35–$45 based on condition, Refrigerator Interior is $45, and Microwave Interior is $20. Appliances must be emptied as instructed. Appliance exteriors are part of the base scope; interiors, behind-and-under cleaning, and movement are distinct tasks.
Are cabinet and drawer interiors included?
Only when selected and completely emptied before service. Cabinet & Drawer Interior Cleaning is $55 minimum for up to 10 selected units, then $5 per additional unit. One cabinet box counts as one unit regardless of whether it has one or two doors, and each drawer counts as one unit.
Does move-out cleaning include behind or under appliances?
No, not automatically. Behind-and-under cleaning must be separately quoted and authorized. Moving an appliance is a separate safety decision and may be declined because of weight, connections, flooring, access, damage, or liability concerns.
Does DSS Cleaning guarantee the return of my security deposit?
No. DSS Cleaning cannot guarantee a landlord, property manager, buyer, or other third party will approve the property or return a security deposit. The accepted scope controls the cleaning work, while lease compliance, repairs, damage, and third-party decisions remain outside the cleaning guarantee.
Can every stain, grease mark, adhesive spot, or odor be removed?
No. DSS Cleaning uses reasonable professional methods but cannot guarantee complete removal of baked-on grease, hard-water deposits, rust, grout discoloration, adhesive, paint, odors, permanent stains, damage, or residue affected by age, material, porosity, or prior treatment.
Does DSS Cleaning bring supplies and equipment?
Yes. DSS Cleaning brings the supplies and equipment required for the accepted scope. The property must have safe access, electricity, hot and cold running water, and working climate control unless another arrangement is approved in writing.
How far ahead should I request service, and is a deposit required?
Request the cleaning as early as possible and provide at least 48 hours of notice. Availability is not guaranteed during busy moving periods. A reservation payment of at least 30% of the accepted amount is required unless an approved service-specific rule states otherwise.
What should I do if I have a service concern?
Report a qualifying concern within 24 hours and provide useful details or photographs. DSS Cleaning reviews the concern under the Service Agreement and may provide one complimentary re-cleaning of the affected area when appropriate. The Service Agreement controls eligibility, remedies, and exclusions.
Look Clean. Smell Clean. DSS Clean.
